ProjectKole, Tanzania

Kole, 12, was born with both legs bowed and has never been able to attend school. £200 was raised so that he could have surgery on both legs. The operation took place in January 2006 and he is currently learning how to walk! When he goes back to his family in Maasai, he will be able to attend school for the first time and look after the goats and cows. Further news of Kole will be posted on this site towards the end of March 2006.

Following the operation on his legs, we visited Kole who is in a rehabilitation centre an hour's drive north of Arusha. He is a very happy little boy who is thrilled at the prospect of being able to play with his friends for the first time in his life.

May 2006 - Graham and Lisa Stevenson visited Kole at the rehabilitation centre just before his return to Maasai where he will now be able to fully integrate in Maasai society. As you can see, he is delighted!
