Events11 July 2010 - Open Garden and Cream Teas, 2.00 - 5.30pm, near Wiveliscombe, Somerset

Come and see the beautiful rambling country gardens of Ford Lodge, near Wiveliscombe, which are being opened for the first time for many years to raise funds for two of WACIA's projects: Rock of Ages Zambia and LwT International Childcare Ministries Uganda.

The gardens include rose beds, mixed herbaceous & perennial beds, a lavender border, a stream and pond, woodland (with two fine specimens of the endangered native Black Poplar), an old orchard, a walled kitchen garden (with raised beds and a vine house with an old black dessert grape) and the Slate Garden which is planted entirely in green, cream and white, including climbers and a bed of ferns. Adjoining fields and some lawn areas are kept in trim by a small flock of pedigree Texel sheep.

Cream teas will be available, together with a plant stall, raffle, children's quiz, African crafts and displays about both projects.
